Tabitha hated the rain.

It wasn't because it was some sort of pathetic fallacy for sad times or because it caused a higher percentage of accidents.

It was cold. It was wet. It was miserable.

But it was also because the city had a bad habit of sudden downpour without warning. A sunny day could quickly become sheets upon sheets of a hurricane season. It was easy to be caught without an umbrella in this unpredictable element.

She kicked at a puddle out of immature annoyance. Her bag wasn't getting any dryer, she wasn't getting any dryer, the school was still pretty far and this sucked a lot. She was going to scream -

“Do you want to share?”

Startled she looked up, not expecting anyone to be there, least of all a tiny girl with a large umbrella. To be fair, the umbrella may have been relatively average in size but the girl was just that small. Okay, now you're just being cocky, she wasn't that much shorter than you, you're just proud that you're taller than someone for once.

“Thanks.” Sure, she was soaking wet already but hey, this was a lot better than the situation a few seconds ago.

Though they were walking in mutual silence, Tabs was sure that they were both observing each other – at least, she knew she was. There was always that ridiculous notion of having a high opinion of others.
